Why collect aluminum pop tabs? By collecting the pop tabs off of aluminum beverage cans, we can make a difference in the lives of the families at the Ronald McDonald House. A small yet significant way for
us to become involved is to “pull” for the
Ronald McDonald House of Jackson.
If you think that your aluminum pop tab donation won’t make a difference, think again! For every pound of pop tabs collected, the House recycles the tabs and receives the current rate for aluminum. In the two seconds it takes to pull the tab from your beverage can, you can help pay $8.00 per night room fee for families unable to pay. However, the Ronald McDonald House never turns away anyone due to his/her inability to pay.
If every school, civic organization, and individual
collects aluminum pop tabs, the lives of thousands could be touched. Start saving your pop tabs now and bring them with you to Crop Connection. We will have collection buckets at the Crop Connection Cafe'.

Our Story
About seven years ago, we formed “Crop Connection”, a week-end getaway for scrapbookers. Creating Crop Connection was a perfect opportunity to blend two of our favorite things: throwing parties and giving happies to people. In the initial planning stages, we determined to set up a fund raising event for a charitable organization and give our croppers an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Crop Connection 2005 was our first year and our first donation was made to benefit a local music program. After Crop Connection 2005, Deanna's daughter, Abbe, was diagnosed with an ASD and required open heart surgery in Houston, TX at the Texas Children’s Hospital. During her recovery, they stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Houston. Impressed with the facility and its staff, we discovered what we thought would be our permanent beneficiary. However, Hurricane Katrina swept through our state with massive destruction and we decided to give all the proceeds of our silent auction to the Salvation Army. Since that time, we have selected Ronald McDonald House to receive funds from our signature charity event. Last year we added the Jackson Ronald McDonald House Wish List and gave our croppers an opportunity to donate goods. Hundreds of items were given to help the needs of families undergoing medical procedures at University Hospital. To date, through silent auctions, we have given the above listed organizations over $4000 thanks to the support of our croppers. Last year, we extended our efforts to include pop tab collection, and What's in the Box? Silent Auction. Due to your overwhelming support, we have decided to keep these two fundraisers as a permanent part of Crop Connection.
Our goal is to raise $2000.

Wish List
For each item you donate to help with the "Wish List", we will enter your
name into a drawing. You will also be entered into a drawing by donating a
bag of pop tabs.
